REGIONAL ASPECTS OF MODERN DEVELOPMENT OF UKRAINE'S FOOD INDUSTRY

Subject. Improving the development of the food industry as a key branch of the processing industry and factors for increasing its competitiveness at the regional level. The aim is to study transformational changes in the development of the food industry, which plays an important role in ensuring the stability of the regional economy in wartime conditions. The following methods were used: analysis and synthesis – to study transformational processes in the industry and justify changes in regional priorities for its development in wartime conditions; statistical, grouping – when systematizing and combining indicators that demonstrate current industry trends for analyzing changes in the development of the food industry in the regions; abstract-logical – when clarifying regional specialization in the production of food products, justified by the identified qualitative features of food production. Results. The article reveals the latest developments in the development of the food industry of Ukraine by region on the basis of the statistical analysis and systematization of regional development factors that affect the activities of food enterprises. The state of development of the food industry in the regions of Ukraine is analyzed and the features of the transformation of industrial production during the war period are highlighted. Based on statistical observations and generalization of analytical information, a grouping of regions is carried out and groups with different degrees of resistance to crisis phenomena are identified according to the levels of development of the food industry in the regions. Ways of increasing competitiveness through digital transformation of the industry are substantiated. Scope of resualrs. The results of the study can be used by authorities and local governments in improving approaches to state regional policy to address issues of recovery the territories of Ukraine and modernizing business activities.
