Subject. Scientific, applied principles and mechanisms for the formation of integration processes in the dairy business. Purpose. Determining integration directions and assessing the effectiveness of integrated dairy companies in Ukraine in the context of modern challenges. Methods. The study used general scientific and special methods: comparison and generalization – when determining the characteristics of merger and acquisition processes in the dairy sector to characterize the activities of Ukrainian agricultural holdings with dairy farming; structural and functional – to determine functional relationships in the dairy value chain; statistical – to study trends in the formation of integration processes and assess the performance of companies in the dairy business; graphical and tabular – to visually display the results of the analysis of indicators. Results. It was found that the creation of integration structures in the dairy business is based on two principles of formation – concentration and cooperation. It was established that more than 40% of processed dairy products come from large food industry enterprises. Company ratings were formed in various areas of economic analysis. The rating of agricultural holdings of Ukraine, where the dairy industry is present, was compiled by the size of the land bank. The ratings of the ten most powerful integrated companies in the processing and production of dairy products were calculated by market share in the total revenue of the industry, profitability of all activities and the level of profitability of personnel. The results of the rating assessments made it possible to determine the efficiency of dairy companies, in particular those where personnel management was better, employees had a higher level of qualification, and more actively used modern innovative technologies, means and methods of production. Scope of results. Theoretical, methodological and applied provisions on the trends of integration processes in the dairy business of Ukraine in crisis conditions can become a source of scientific information in further scientific research and be used by economic scientists, teachers, and higher education students.
