ASSESSMENT OF THE RATIONALITY OF THE CURRENT NORMS OF MEAT CONSUMPTION BY THE POPULATION OF UKRAINE

Subject. Observance of rational norms of meat and meat products consumption in Ukraine, compliance of rational norms with modern trends. Purpose. To research the peculiarities of the actual consumption of meat products in Ukraine and the world, to assess the rationality of the current consumption norms in relation to the actual market trends. Methods. To achieve the goal of the research, general scientific and special methods were used: dialectical, systemic generalization, economic-statistical – for processing and analyzing statistical data; graphical and tabular – for visualization and generalization of research results; abstract and logical – for formulating conclusions. Results. The article analyzes the observance of rational norms of food consumption in Ukraine. It was determined that the volume of food consumption in Ukraine is much lower than necessary to meet all the needs of the human body. To compensate for the insufficient consumption of meat, milk, fish, Ukrainians excessively consumed potatoes, other vegetables, oil, which violates the ratio of physiologically necessary basic nutrients and energy. The article analyzes changes in compliance with rational norms and caloric content of the diet in dynamics over 26 years. It was analyzed how the structure of consumption of meat products has changed in dynamics. The main factors that influence changes in meat consumption in Ukraine and worldwide were investigated. Scope of results. The research results have a scientific and practical nature and can be used by scientists in further studies the market of meat products, in the field of consumption of meat and meat products. They can serve as a source of reference information and be used by economists, specialists of authorities, researchers, teachers, graduate students and students of higher educational institutions.
