THE ROLE OF PERSONAL PEASANT FARMS IN FOOD SECURITY OF THE POPULATION: SOCIO-ECONOMIC SECTION

Abstract

Subject. The subject of the study is a set of theoretical, methodical and applied foundations of the functioning of personal peasant farms in Ukraine as a source of food supply. Purpose. On the basis of the generalization of the results of the conducted, offer practical recommendations regarding the settlement of the role of personal peasant farms in the food supply of the country's population. Methods. The solution of the tasks identified in the research is based on the positions of a systematic approach and the use of the following research methods: monographic – for studying and summarizing the scientific and methodological foundations of the activity of personal peasant farms; abstract-logical – when clarifying the categorical research apparatus; statistical analysis – to establish the trends of economic activity in the production and distribution of agricultural products in personal peasant farms; observations – to find out the specifics of individual components of the activities of personal peasant farms. Results. It has been established that the strategy of survival due to the receipt of natural food products from personal peasant farms remains common for most rural settlements, which is evidence of the low level of income of their residents. For rural residents, the sector of personal farming is the main source of food and additional income. In the vast majority, products from personal peasant farms are consumed by the villagers themselves and almost completely provide their nutrition. It has been theoretically proven and empirically confirmed that one of the main factors in the functioning of social cooperation in the process of production and distribution of agricultural products in personal peasant farms is the manifestation of the characteristic features of the rural community as a means of protecting the socio-economic interests of the rural community during the period of manifestation of destructive phenomena in the life of society. Scope of results. Research results can be used in the development of plans for the strategic development of rural united territorial communities and programs for the development of rural entrepreneurship within administrative-territorial formations.
