CURRENT TRENDS OF FEMALE FORCE PARTICIPATION IN AGRICULTURE

Abstract

Subject of research. The theoretical and methodological provisions and practical principles of gender studies in agricultural production. Purpose. Determine the trends of changes in the use of women's labor in the agricultural production of Ukraine at the current stage and to substantiate their factors. Methods. Methods of induction and analysis of economic phenomena determined the essence of changes in the use of female labor as an equal share of all human labor involved in agricultural production. Economic and statistical information was used to justify changes in the nature and scope of women's work in modern conditions of agricultural production in Ukraine. Results. Deep restructuring of the economic system and rapid integration into the international agricultural market led to significant changes in the socio-economic processes of rural areas of Ukraine, which also affected gender relations in agricultural production. Part of rural women received new employment opportunities in the "organized" sector of the agrarian economy after its reform, for others the only alternative was to conduct agricultural production within their own households. It was found that the main factors of such changes are the further increase in the level of informatization, automation and mechanization of production and management processes, cross-industry restructuring of production in favor of crop production in large-scale production, and the deepening of specialization in about a quarter of the total number of households in the labor-intensive industries of animal husbandry and horticulture. It was established that a real problem is gender education, access of women, representatives of small and medium-sized agrarian businesses, to constant updating of knowledge and practices of independent management of the economy in modern market conditions. Scope of research results. The results have a scientific and practical nature and can be used by scientists in further gender studies.
