The role of globalization in solving food problem

Abstract

Article seeks to substantiate the role of globalization in solving the food problem at the present stage of development of the food market. Studied the positive and negative effects of globalization in the food sector. Determined that the distribution of income among the population of the world is carried out on a «champagne glass» R. Weida. The result of the study was to identify the fact that in the process of globalization, the rich countries have separated and moved away from the poor. However, globalization should help to reduce the differences in the levels of living of different countries and of certain social groups within these countries. Determined that the complexity of managing the world food market due to the fact that the control object contains a variety of functionally interrelated elements. The article substantiates that globalization of the world food system contributes to the active formation of vertically integrated transnational corporations (TNCs), which constitute the core of the world economic system. Proved that globalization generates four main dynamic process: increasing the gap between rich and poor countries; reinforced insulation in poor countries; increasing income differentiation among various social groups within countries; destroyed the social security system.
