CONCEPTUAL PRINCIPLES OF THE FORMATION OF ECONOMIC POLICY, FORECASTING AND SCIENTIFIC SUPPORT OF THE FOOD INDUSTRY DEVELOPMENT

The subject of the study is a set of theoretical, methodological and applied provisions for the formation of economic policy, forecasting development and determining the relevant areas of scientific support for the growth of the food industry. Goal. To systematize and generalize the conceptual principles of economic policy formation, forecasting the development of the food industry on the basis of appropriate scientific support. Methods. The results of the study were based on the application of: dialectical and systematic generalization ‒ to analyze the work of scientists on the formation of economic policy and mechanisms of food industry development, structural and logical ‒ to identify areas of influence; economic-statistical, economic and comparative analysis to diagnose the state, trends, problems and prospects of the food industry; induction and deduction, analysis and synthesis to substantiate the vector of development and directions of scientific support of the food industry, etc. Results. Legislative provisions have been worked out and conceptual bases of economic policy formation and corresponding directions of scientific support of food industry development have been systematized. Approaches to forecasting the development of the food industry are proposed, which would ensure the disclosure of potential and the most efficient use of available resources. The directions of scientific support for providing the food industry with a competitive advantage on the basis of wide application of innovative technologies of raw materials processing and food production are substantiated. Scope of research results. The research results contain theoretical and methodological aspects that expand knowledge about the formation of economic policy, forecasting development and identifying priority areas of scientific support for the growth of the food industry. It is designed for the practical application of the main scientific provisions and research proposals in the preparation of laws and regulations on the formation of state policy to ensure the effective development of the food industry and improve the socio-economic situation in Ukraine. The obtained results can be used in further research on topical issues of agro-industrial complex development by economic specialists and all stakeholders.
