TECHNICAL ASPECTS OF GUARANTEEING FOOD SECURITY: ROLE OF TECHNICAL REGULATION

Normative regulation, including standardization, of the problems of safety and quality of foods as principal constituents in the overall structure of food security of a state grounds the necessity of consolidated and purposeful actions within such spheres as: food security, technical regulation, safety and quality of foods. There are different approaches to nomenclature and hierarchy of food security indicators, but anyway the said indicators suppose safe and qualitative raw foods together with ready to consume foods in the assortment sufficient to guarantee rational nutrition of consumers. This approach is to be considered within the national system of technical regulation, including standardization. Sophisticated ways to consider the fundamentals of food security are: concept of foods as such, rational consume limits, state food resources, safety of foods, quality of processes, organizations and foods.New approach to the communication concerning food security, including issues of safety and quality of foods, supposes the proper information transparency while concerning food security indexes, nomenclature of foods and their parameters with the organizing open analyzing according with recognized methods these contained in international and national standards.
