Abstract

For are adduced in the article rapid assessment of the competitiveness in the food industry five approaches: on the basis of calculating the indices of industry advance (approach 1), determining rating score (approach 2), constructing a matrix of indicators of profitability and risk, namely investment attractiveness matrix (approach 3), using the stages of their life cycle (approach 4), constructing of the modified matrix of Boston consulting group (BCG) (approach 5). Basing on these approaches overall competitiveness ranking of the food industry is developed. Results of rapid evaluation are used within strategies for improving the competitiveness of food industry.
