INNOVATION ACTIVITY OF FOOD INDUSTRY UKRAINE

The research presented in the article shows that in recent years trend of innovation in the enterprises of food industry is unstable, although in 2015 there has been some improvement compared to 2014. The study let determine that the slow pace of innovation activity are caused by lack of funds and resources for innovation, weak interest of manufacturers to introduce new developments. Also cluster analysis is made of a group of industries in terms of innovation activity, and the results of the said analysis show that the food industry has one of the highest levels of innovation activity. The strategic areas of innovation management at government level are proposed.
