Abstract

Subject. Conveyor washing water produced during hydrotransportation and washing of sugar beet root crops before their processing. Purpose. The purpose of the work is to study conveyor washing water to create a closed system for its purification to reduce discharges to the filtration fields and solve environmental problems of the sugar industry. Methods. The research method is based on the determination of the filtration speed of the thickened sediment of conveyor washing water of beet sugar production on an automated pilot press filter unit with the addition of desugared sediment of juice suspension and saturation. Results. Based on the results of the research, an optimal technological scheme for hydraulic transportation of the beet-water mixture with a set of equipment for removing light and heavy impurities, a scheme and equipment for thickening the suspension of transporter-washing water, cleaning, clarification and reuse of purified water and a mode of filtering thickened sediment with a selection of equipment was developed , filter cloth and auxiliary means. As a result of the study, an algorithm for the operation of the washing departments of sugar factories, conveyor washing water purification stations with the thickening of suspension sediment and its filtering was determined. Scope of results. The obtained research results will be used for the development of a closed technological scheme of modern washing departments for the purpose of washing root crops, removing impurities from beets, filtering conveyor washing water, thickening sediment and filtering it to obtain pressed sediment with dry matter (SR) of 6570%. The obtained dry sediment can be used for reclamation of agricultural lands.
